Club Dignitaries

Mr. Captain Keith Banham has been a member of Crompton & Royton Golf Club for 16 Years. He was Company Director of his engineering Company until he Retired in 2002. He has been married to Jacqueline (Lady Captain) for 46 Years and they have two children Philip & Fiona and three grandchildren Ryan, Rebbeca & Emma.

The President Mr. Steven Mills is a 65 year old semi-retired builder, married with two children. He is a keen golfer and long suffering Oldham Athletic fan. He has been a member of Crompton and Royton Golf Club for the last 22 years, and served as Captain in 1999 and he has served on the clubs Council for several years were he held the position of House Chaiman for many of them.

The Lady Captain this year Jacqueline Banham (Jackie) has been a member of the club since January 1996. She worked in engineering as a tool setter and later was company secretary before retiring in 2004. Jackie met her husband Keith in 1960 aged 15 and they married on 1st June 1963 and have two children and three grandchildren and one great grandchild due in May. Both Keith and I went to Hollinwood Secondary School and lived on new Limeside. Jackie had never thought about golf until Keith became interested and they have never looked back since and play as often as possible. They have made a lot of good friends and companions through golf and both Keith and I are looking forward to being captains together this year.
The Junior Captain Mr Jordon Abbott has been a member of the club for the past two and a half years. He says golf has taken over his life so much that is future ambition is to become a golf Professional, and he sees the role of Junior Captain as a helpful step in the right direction. In his first season he played of an handicap of 36 and has steadily reduced it down to 10, in his words with long hours of practice and excellent coaching.
The Vice-Captain Mr. Gordon Lamb joined Crompton & Royton Golf Club in November 1987. He has previously served on Council for ten years and held the office of President in 2001. He is still working as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at BAESYSTEMS, Chadderton. And is looking forward to the coming year and working closely with the Captain Mr Keith Banham.
The Lady Vice-Captain Audrey Whittaker has been a member of the golf club for nearly 20 years and has served on the Ladies Committee a number of times, latterly as Treasurer.
