Huddersfield Golf Club at Fixby played host to the Oldham & District Wooden Spoon Competition on Friday 7th August 2026.

The annual 4BBB competition brings together Captains and Vice Captains from golf clubs across the district, all competing for the honour of avoiding the one trophy nobody wants to take home — the Wooden Spoon!

This year, the Wooden Spoon went to Tommy and Liam Dwayre of Werneth Golf Club, who received the trophy from last year’s winner, Crompton & Royton Captain Mr Nigel Wylie.

‍

There was also plenty for Crompton & Royton to celebrate, with Mr Pete Bostock topping the overall leaderboard with an excellent 42 points.

‍

Congratulations to Pete on a superb performance, and well played to everyone who took part in another enjoyable Oldham & District event.
